Launching Soon: New Online Library Catalog

As members of the Old Colony Library Network (OCLN), a resource sharing cooperative of South Shore libraries, the Thomas Crane Public Library is thrilled to announce the launch of Aspen, our brand new online library catalog system through OCLN. Our network team has spent the past year working hard to bring this improved, user-friendly experience to you, and the new online catalog will be going live on April 30th!

We truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we make this important upgrade. This transition to Aspen is all about creating a better experience for our library users. With improved searching capabilities, online account management, and a mobile-ready interface, browsing and borrowing will soon be easier than ever.

Aspen Online Catalog Launch

  • All library services will resume and the new online catalog system will be live.
  • Your library card and account will automatically transfer to the new system.
    • All of your checkouts and holds will be moved to the new system.
    • If you elected to save your reading history, it will also be moved to the new system.
  • If your login PIN contains any letters, these letters will be converted to upper case. If you have forgotten your PIN, you’ll be able to reset it online (new PINs / passwords can be created with any combination of numbers, and upper and lower case letters).
  • You may have to log back into apps like Hoopla and Libby with your library card number and PIN.

We know this change will be an adjustment. If you have any questions or are having trouble accessing your account, please visit or call us at (617) 376-1300 and library staff will be happy to help!
