All proceeds of private event and space rentals at the Thomas Crane Public Library directly support our Archives & Special Collections.

One-Hour Wedding Ceremonies

The Thomas Crane Public Library offers one-hour wedding ceremonies, which include an hour of access for a non-denominational wedding ceremony and photos within the historic Richardson Building at the Main Library in Quincy Center. The rental fee is $200.00.

  • Couples are invited to include up to 12 guests, regardless of age, to take part in their ceremony. Your photographer and officiant do not count towards the 12-person guest limit.
  • Photos are permitted within designated interior and exterior areas of the Richardson Building. Note: Photo access is not permitted on the second and third balconies of the Richardson Building & Aiken Ell.
  • Chairs and ceremony décor will be provided by the Library and placed specifically for each appointment:
    • 12 Coletti chairs
    • 6 Gold Pedestal Aisle Flower Arrangements
    • 2 Tall Floor-standing Flower plants

Please note, we do not provide an officiant, master of ceremony, or manage marriage licenses & certificates. To learn more about applying for a marriage license, please visit the City of Quincy’s website.

Additional Details

  • Food and/or beverage is not permitted.
  • Outside vendors are limited to one officiant or master of ceremony and one photographer.
  • Additional furniture, decorations, petals, signs, rice, confetti, balloons, props, or animals are not permitted.
  • Attendees must come dressed for the ceremony; on-site holding/prep areas are not available.
  • Live music is not permitted.
  • The booker will incur a fee for any violations of the outlined terms.

Booking

Ceremonies may be booked within a 90 day booking window, and must be booked at least 14 days out. Wedding ceremonies are offered on select days each month:

  • First Monday of each month from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM
  • Second Wednesday of each month from 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM
  • Third Friday of each month from 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM

To inquire about booking a 1-hour ceremony in the Richardson Building, please fill out an application. A representative from the Administration office will follow up with you. Date availability will not be confirmed without a submitted application.
