Printing, Computers, & Internet Access
Computers
All TCPL locations offer free to use public access computers. You do not need a library card to use a computer. Please note:
- All computers are available on a first come, first served basis only and may not be reserved in advance.
- Users are required to adhere to any posted use or time limitations.
- Computers do not retain information between sessions, and all data and search history is wiped after ending a computer session.
- Users are encouraged to save their files to the Cloud or to a user-owned storage device to avoid any loss of work.
- Computers automatically lock from use 15 minutes before location closing time.
Internet Access
Free WiFi access is available at all locations. To use our free wireless internet, connect to the ThomasCranePublicLibrary network under your device settings.
Free internet access is also available from any of our public access computers.
Printing & Copying
Printing and copying services are available at all library locations. You can print from any of our public access computers, or use our Email to Print service to print from your own device onsite or remotely.
- Black and white printing costs $0.15 per page
- Color printing costs $0.40 per page
- Cash or Credit are accepted at the Main Library and North Quincy branch
- Cash Only at the Adams Shore branch and Wollaston branch
Email to Print
To print via email, send your files (PDF or JPG) as an email attachment to:
Black & white printing: [email protected]
Color printing: [email protected]
Files must be attached directly to an email; files as links in the body of an email will not print. Emails with multiple attachments will transmit as one print job with multiple files. An email subject or body is not required. Please note: Google files (docs, slides, sheet, etc.) will need to be downloaded as a PDF file prior to attaching to an email.
Get your prints
To pick up your prints, visit a Print Release kiosk to print your documents and follow the posted instructions.
Adams Shore and Wollaston branches: Please see staff for assistance.
All unreleased print jobs will remain in the print queue for 2.5 hours, after which time they will be automatically deleted.
Scanning
The Main Library provides free self-service scanning. Items can be scanned to a USB drive, email, smartphone, or Google Drive.
North Quincy provides free self-service scanning. Items can be scanned to a USB drive or email.
Adams Shore and Wollaston provide free self-service scanning to USB drive only.
Faxing
Self-service faxing is available at the Main Library and North Quincy branch at no cost:
- Up to 20 pages can be faxed at a time.
- Faxes can be sent to domestic numbers only.
- The Library does not have a receiving number for faxes.
