REEL TALK: The Librarians screening & panel

Wednesday, September 16 | 6 – 8:30 PM | Main Library

The Librarians is a gripping documentary that explores librarians united to combat book banning, defending intellectual freedom on democracy’s front lines amid unprecedented censorship in Texas, Florida, and beyond. The Librarians is a chilling cautionary tale and rallying cry for freedom – told through the personal experiences of librarians under siege and the everyday patriots who join their ranks in defense of the books.

Followed by panel featuring library leaders Will Adamcyzk, Director at Milton Public Library and Co-Chair of the Legislative Committee for the Massachusetts Library Association; Noelle Boc, Director at Peabody Institute Library of Danvers, ALA Chapter President, and Co-founder of the New England Intellectual Freedom Helpline; and Sara Slymon, Executive Director at Thomas Crane Public Library.
